Call Flight Service at (800) WX-Brief.
Request a weather briefing of your
departure point, en route and destination.
Once you have gotten you weather
briefing then complete the flight plan form with times winds heading etc.
Then complete the FAA Flight Plan form
and call it in to The Flight Service at (800) WX-Brief.
On this form the departure time you
enter is good for no more than one hour after proposed departure time otherwise
it falls out of the system.
So if you file that you are going to
depart at 0800 Local and you depart at 0839 Local and finally contact Miami
Radio at 0859 it will still be in system.

Now that you have determined that the
weather is acceptable and you are going to make the flight the following
